How this site makes money
Right now the site earns nothing. The calculators and guides are free, and nobody pays us for anything on these pages.
What that means in practice
- No ads, no paid links. We don’t take payment from insurers, agents, brokers, exchanges or anyone else listed or linked here. Every link to HealthCare.gov or a state exchange is there because that is where you apply.
- No referrals. We don’t pass your details to agents or agencies, and we don’t sell or share anything you send us.
- No plan recommendations. The calculators show arithmetic from public tables. They don’t recommend an insurer or a plan, and we don’t sell, solicit or negotiate insurance.
- No tracking for advertising. There are no third-party analytics, pixels or session recording on this site.
If that ever changes, this page and our privacy policy will say so first.
What we are not
We are not a government website and are not affiliated with HealthCare.gov, the Health Insurance Marketplace®, CMS, HHS, any state exchange or Medicaid agency, or any other government agency. We are not an insurance company, not an insurance agency, and we don’t sell insurance. We don’t handle Medicare. For Medicare questions, call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or your State Health Insurance Assistance Program.
Free help that isn’t us
Certified Navigators and assisters help people enroll at no cost and are not paid by insurers. Find one at localhelp.healthcare.gov or through your state’s exchange.
