Terms of use
healthinsurance.help (HealthInsurance.help) is an independent website. These terms apply when you use the site. By using it you agree to them; if you don't agree, please don't use it.
What this site is
HealthInsurance.help publishes free calculators and guides about the cost of health coverage: the premium tax credit, repaying it, Medicaid and CHIP income limits, COBRA and enrollment windows, with state and county reference pages. It is education and tools only. We are not an insurance company, an insurance agency or broker, a navigator or a government agency. We don't sell, solicit or negotiate insurance, we don't take applications, and we don't recommend any insurer or plan. We are not affiliated with HealthCare.gov, CMS or any government agency. To apply or compare plans, use HealthCare.gov or your state's exchange.
Information, not advice
Everything here is general information. It is not medical, legal, tax, financial or insurance advice for your situation, and using the site doesn't create a client or advisory relationship. Check decisions with the marketplace, your state Medicaid agency, a tax professional or another qualified adviser.
Calculators are estimates
The calculators work from what you enter and from dated public data: IRS applicable percentage tables, HHS poverty guidelines, CMS plan and premium files and state Medicaid limits. Each page shows the year of the data it uses; when a 2027 figure hasn't been published, the page says it is using the 2026 figure. Results are estimates, not an eligibility determination, a tax return, a quote or an offer of coverage. The marketplace, your state Medicaid agency and the IRS decide what you qualify for, and real 2027 premiums may differ. The sources and their dates are on the sources and methods page.
What you send us
If you use the contact form or a reminder sign-up, you agree that what you send is accurate and yours to send. Please don't send health information, account numbers or government ID numbers. How we handle what you send is in our privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Don't use the site to break the law, to send spam or harmful code, to overload or probe it, or to scrape it in a way that disrupts it for others. You may read it with ordinary search and AI crawlers that respect robots.txt.
Our content and data
The text, design and graphics on this site belong to healthinsurance.help. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with a link back. Please ask before republishing anything more. The government data we use is public domain.
Links to other sites
We link to HealthCare.gov, state exchanges, agencies and other sources because they are useful. We don't control them, don't endorse them, and are not paid for any link.
No warranties
The site is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the content is accurate, complete or current, or that the site will always be available.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, healthinsurance.help is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses from using the site or relying on it, and our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to US$100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Indemnity
If you misuse the site or break these terms and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem with the site, write to us first through the contact form (choose "Legal notice") and give us 30 days to try to fix it. Either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court if it qualifies. Otherwise, any dispute will be resolved by individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association's Consumer Arbitration Rules, and neither of us will bring or join a class action. You can opt out of arbitration and the class waiver by sending a legal notice through the contact form within 30 days of first using the site.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply from that date and don't reach back to disputes already raised.
